Faculty Notification Letters

To receive your approved accommodations for courses each semester, you are responsible for notifying your instructors of these accommodations through our office. Learn how this works to help your instructor accommodate you most appropriately.

Faculty Notification Letters are Necessary . . . Every Semester

Faculty Notification Letters MUST be requested for SDRC to provide your accommodations for your courses.  This makes your instructors aware of your registration with SDRC and your approved accommodations.  This is necessary to submit every semester for each course that you wish to receive accommodations for.

In addition to notifying your instructors, this will enable your ability to submit accommodation requests through our AIM management system (e.g., extended test time).

  1. Sign into AIM Student Portal.  Log in with your university credentials which will include the Duo Authentication process.
    1. You might be prompted to complete the "Faculty & Staff Communication Waiver" (once per term) and "Student Accommodations Approval Verification" (once ever, first time logging into AIM).
  2. Under the Accommodation Requests for “Semester/Year” select “Add Requests for # Classes” in blue writing

  3. A list of your classes will populate with checkboxes next to each class. Select the boxes next to the classes you want to send your letter to, and then also select the box “Apply the same accommodations to all selected courses” if you prefer to send your letter with the same accommodations to each class. Then select Continue to Next Step.

  4. You will see the name of your course selected and then the accommodations you receive with a box next to each. Select the accommodations you would like to receive in your classes and then select the Submit Requests button. Note: We recommend sending all of your accommodations to each class.

Your letters will be sent through our system 24-48 business hours after you submit your requests. You will always know when your instructor(s) receive your letters, because you will also receive an email confirmation at the same time. This email confirmation will show up in your “My Mailbox” tab.

If you have questions related to this, please contact the SDRC Graduate Assistants at SADRCGA@mailbox.sc.edu or 803-777-6142.
